Are space bags good for when traveling?

I know they sell it at some stores now.
I wonder if its possible to use them for traveling, like fitting lots of stuff in one luggage by using space bags. Will it effect the security luggage thing where it goes through? Or will it be normal and safe to go through?
space bags will not save anything as to the weight because “squashed” clothing weighs the same. I went on a two week trip and had serious limits as to how much the bag could weigh and the size of it. I found that with self restraint, you can get two weeks worth in one bag if you pack properly. Go to ask.com and type in how to pack a suitcase. It involves stacking shirts together and folding all into one package. (Sleeves to center, bottom half folded up) I own the space bags and do not like the travel ones. You have to really work at rolling out the air manually and I ended up with wrinkles. The above mentioned technique got me all the way to Europe with all my shirts unwrinkled.
