WHAT IT IS: A 15 MINUTE WATERLESS CAR WASH & WAX
When available, I like to look at a product’s chemistry to help me figure out if it really will work as advertised. According to the As Seen On TV promo, REJUVENATE AUTO detailer contains lubricating polymers, surfactants and Carnuba wax. The surfactants allow the dirt, dust and oxidation to be lifted off the surface. Then, the polymers allow the a microfiber cloth to smoothly pass over the surface, gathering up the surface stuff loosened by the surfactant. Finally, the surface is polished to a high shine by the Carnuba Wax, filling in minute scratches and removing swirl marks along the way. All this in a spritz followed by a couple of wipes per section. The ad says REJUVENATE AUTO is a waterless car finish protectant… that you can detail your whole car in just 15 minutes!
BUT DOES IT WORK?
Yes..but…. If your car is extremely dirty, they advise rinsing the car off with water first. Well, if I’ve gotta rinse it, I might as well wash it using one of the additives you put in your bucket that’s supposed to wash and wax at the same time. On the other hand, if I just want to shine the buggy up to take my bride out dancing on a Saturday night, it works just fine. I don’t know my age has anything to do with it, but Rejuvenate cleaning and polishing took me a little longer than 15 minutes. Of course, my old Eldorado is a bit bigger than the cars today, so maybe that’s why.
ADVANTAGES IN A NUTSHELL
1. REJUVENATE AUTO is a waterless car finish product; It does save water–The EPA says you can use up to 100 gallons of water washing your car. Use in your garage or outdoors.
2. Easy to use–Just spray & wipe. Endorsed by one of the National Corvette Clubs.
3. Uses tried and true Carnuba Wax to give a shiny exterior surface.
QUESTIONABLES?
1. I wish it were more specific as to clear coat finishes. It says “safe for all finishes”, but I’d feel better if it specified clear coat.
2. REJUVENATE AUTO doesn’t seem to last as long as a traditional wax job, but a great quick fix for the special occasion when you want your ride looking nice.
3. Ordering from the Internet Ad: Here’s where you have to be sharp. If you took advantage of all the special “Free” and “Bonus” offers associated with the REJUVENATE AUTO, you’d get a lot of stuff that you might not need “for free”, but then pay a bunch for shipping charges. So, my advice would be to buy the REJUVENATE AUTO just by itself for about $28. including shipping. I mean it’s all you wanted in the first place, right?
